Ziehl-Abegg Appoints Mayer New CTO

Mayer

The supervisory board of Künzelsau, Germany-based Ziehl-Abegg SE has appointed Wolfgang Mayer as the company’s new chief technology officer (CTO). Joining the global electric motor specialist from Kuka Robotics, Mayer’s new role becomes effective in February 2024. Holding a degree in engineering, Mayer worked for Kuka starting in 1996, holding roles in application and software development, as well as mechatronics R&D. He became Kuka CTO in 2020. “In his previous positions, Mayer internationalized his company’s development activities, establishing and expanding the R&D departments in China, Hungary, Finland and the U.S.,” Ziehl-Abegg observed. “The mechanical engineer also has a soft spot for ‘smart product architecture.'”
