The Canadian Elevator Contractors Association’s (CECA) 1939 Club — a group for people who are 19 to 39 years old — plans the inaugural Ice Breaker Event — Collective Arts Virtual Drinks Tasting on April 20. The cost is CAD40 (US$30) plus harmonized sales tax (consumption tax in Canada) per six pack (including shipping). The event will include a combination of six drinks (four beers and two spirit cocktails) crafted by Collective Arts and shipped to participants’ addresses. Participants will be able to learn about each drink from the brew master. 1939 Club Chair Phil Staite says the club will organize in-person regional events in coming months, but are putting on the virtual drinks tasting to help people meet one another across Canada and the U.S. prior to the 2023 CECA convention in Halifax the week of June 13. To ensure drinks delivery, tickets to the tasting must be purchased by April 11.
