A development partnership of Hoque Global and Lanoha Real Estate Co. plans to begin construction in 2021 on One Newpark, a 38-story tower that will be the tallest building on the southern end of Downtown Dallas, D Magazine reported in October 2020. The tower represents the first phase of Newpark Dallas, a “smart district” adjacent to Dallas City Hall, the Dallas Convention Center and the Dallas Farmers Market. The development team says Newpark Dallas will be a technology and education hub that will become the city’s next center of urban growth. The overall project will have more than 1 million ft2 of class-A office space, 200,000 ft2 of retail, thousands of residential units and a high-end hotel. Also proposed is a 1-million-ft2 educational campus that will offer pre-K through higher education. A construction timeline was not announced.
