New York in the Aftermath of Sandy

New-York-in-the-Aftermath-of-Sandy

This photo is from Sean Foran, president of Certified Elevator and Escalator Products, Inc. Foran sent it to us on November 13 to show us the effects Hurricane Sandy had on the company’s Long Island, New York, premises. As of press time, however, immediate recovery from the storm had already taken place, and long-term projects had been planned. For example, according to Staten Island Advance, Staten Island’s Midtown’s West Side saw a resumption of metro service, following the repair and replacement of track, communications systems, pumping equipment, electrical feeds and controls. The Metropoli-tan Transit Authority could then focus on completing its R Line service between lower Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn.
