Shanghai BST’s New Plant

A brief overview of the company’s new facility

Shanghai BST, established in 1998 as a manufacturer of cable harnesses, opened a new manufacturing facility in July 2011. With an increased area of 52,200 m2, the facility gives the company the capacity to manufacture electric products, cables and door operators. This base, together with five workshops focusing on electrical product assembly (such as car-operating panels), establishes a new electronic workshop for the company. The facility is equipped with five surface-mount technology (SMT) assembly lines and advanced machinery from around the world, including a Rehm reflow oven from Germany, Horizon03i automatic printing machine from the U.K. and Nordson spraying equipment from the U.S. In addition, Shanghai BST made improvements to its management system, establishing a special electronic engineering department comprised of 16 technical specialists.
