Vulka’s Safety Elevator Fence

WSG-25

Vulka B.V. offers the Safety Elevator Fence (SEF), an invention from the Netherlands registered with Liftinstituut and certified to EN 81-1/-2. TÜV SÜD certified, the spring-actuated protection fence for the car roof meets the basic safety requirements of Directive 95/16/EC. When beginning work in elevator shafts, elevator engineers erect a safety fence that is later disassembled and removed upon completion of the work. During assembly and disassembly, however, engineers are still sometimes unprotected in the shaft. This safety fence provides a safe working environment for engineers in these instances by creating a space between the elevator cage and ceiling, which provides sufficient space to prevent accidents in the event of an emergency.

N-Ferno Warming Vest

Ergodyne’s N-Ferno® 6900 Warming Vest with NobleTek® Insulation is designed for cold-environment workers needing to stay warm on the job. The vest provides warmth, comfort and flexibility without the added bulk of natural or synthetic fibers. Recently named “2011 New Product of the Year” by Occupational Health & Safety Magazine, the N-Ferno vest employs a warming system that uses flexible, airtight-yet-breathable chambers filled with argon gas (a nontoxic, nonflammable, environmentally friendly gas). The 4.5-mm layer of argon used by the vest has the same thermal conductivity as 14 mm of synthetic or natural fibers. NobleTek insulation gives users the ability to adjust the level of warmth with the turn of a dial.

Focus On Machines, Motors And Pumps:Wittur Energy-Efficient Gearless Drives

Wittur has unveiled two additions to its range of energy-efficient gearless drives for elevator applications – WSG-S0 and WSG-25. WSG-S0 is ideal for residential machine-room-less elevators with rated speeds up to 3 mps (2:1 suspension) and rated load up to 675 kg. WSG-S0 benefits from a compact design and low noise levels during operation. WSG-25 is ideally suited for fast, high-efficiency elevators. The drive features rated speeds up to 5 mps (2:1 suspension) and a rated load up to 3400 kg. Special elevator projects can benefit from a variety of standard and special bed plates, diverting pulleys and accessories available for adapting WSG-25 to any specific application. Integrated fail-safe brakes are installed on all Wittur gearless drives and are type-tested according to EN 81-1 A3. Wittur supplies a complete unintended car movement solution by combining gearless brakes with its electronic overspeed governor, EOS.
