Would-You-Do-This

Dubbed “the world’s first lickable lift” and installed in an office building in Great Portland Street, London, this elevator car has 1,325 Jaffa Cakes cookies stuck on its walls for riders to graze upon. Inspired by the 2005 film adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the culinary installation requires constant “maintenance” to pre-serve hygiene. The labor-intensive wonder took food technicians and artists four weeks to develop, and a bellhop stays busy replacing tasted treats.

Since 1953, Elevator World, Inc. has been the premier publisher for the global vertical transportation industry. It employs specialists in Mobile, Alabama, and has technical and news correspondents around the world.
