Fight Ends In Elevator Shaft With Multiple Injuries

Three men were injured in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, after a fight between them ended up in the elevator shaft of an apartment complex on the night of May 17, NBC 10 reported. Like what you might see in a movie, the men, all between 20 and 22 years old, were fighting on the eighth floor of the building when the fight broke through the closed elevator doors, causing the men to fall down the elevator shaft along with the doors and landing on the elevator car sitting on the first floor, according to Upper Merion Township police. Two of the men crashed through the elevator car roof and landed in the car while the third landed on top of the car. All three were injured and taken to nearby hospitals. Their conditions have not been revealed. The incident was originally believed to be an elevator crash due to a malfunction, but elevator car falls are rare because of safety brakes and other features that prevent the elevator from dropping uncontrollably down a shaft.
