GPT has lodged plans to build a AUS$1.285-billion (US$9.9-million) residential tower development on eight super-lots in Rouse Hill, a suburb of Sydney, Australia, The Urban Developer reported on May 19. The development includes towers up to 25 stories as well as 41,000 m2 of commercial-retail space called the Northern Precinct near the Sydney Metro Rouse Hill Station, which was completed in 2019. The area will also soon be home to a new AUS$300-million (US$232.7-million) hospital with works to begin in 2023. This latest GPT application builds on a ‘transit-oriented development’ submission lodged in 2019 and makes some amendments, including reducing building height by five stories and doubling the amount of retail-community-commercial space. According to the development application the project will be completed over at least 15 years with a series of neighborhood stages. Other developments in Rouse Hill include Castle Group’s 227 apartment development on Tallawong Road and Deicorp’s 350-apartment development on Civic Way.
