Otis Worldwide has announced that it was named as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies by Newsweek on December 7. America’s Most Responsible Companies were selected based on publicly available material, including CSR reports and annual sustainability reports, like Otis’ Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report. An independent survey asking U.S. citizens about their perception of company activities related to corporate social responsibility was also used to help create the final list. Some of the key areas reviewed include environmental, such as waste emissions, water usage and energy use; social, including leadership diversity and company philanthropy; and governance, like economic performance and transparency. The final list recognizes the top 500 ‘Most Responsible’ companies based in the U.S. across all industries. Otis was included in the Capital Goods category alongside companies like 3M, Deere and Caterpillar to name a few. Otis was also named as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies last year.
