Escalators and Lifts Being Installed at FOBs in Delhi, India

After a survey by India’s Delhi Government revealed that people were not using foot overbridges (FOBs) due to the time and fatigue involved, it is now in various stages of installing escalators and elevators at FOBs at key locations in the city, Delhi Breakings reports. At Pragati Maidan on Mathura Road, the government is installing escalators on two FOBs and lifts in another two. Installation of escalators is nearing completion at Kaka Nagar and near Gate No. 6 of Pragati Maidan, and lift installation is underway at an operational FOB at the Supreme Court. Plans are also in the works to replace a non-functional lift at the Matka Peer FOB, built in 2010.
