Alimak Group Considers Consolidating Assembly Activity

Stockholm, Sweden-headquartered Alimak Group is considering consolidating assembly activity in Mammendorf, Germany, to its manufacturing facility in Madrid, Spain, as part of an effort to deliver significantly improved margins in its Façade Access division. Discussions will commence with the German works council. The consolidation of the assembly activity would save an estimated SEK60 million ($US 5.7 million) in annual costs beginning in 2025. The total one-time cost of the move is estimated to be SEK95 million (US$9.1 million), and this number could be partially offset by capital gain resulting from the divestment of the Mammendorf real estate. The consolidation only targets the assembly workshop, while R&D, engineering functions and service would remain in Germany.
