90 Escalators For Stations Along India’s Bullet Train Corridor

The National High Speed Rail Corp. Ltd. announced on October 8 that 90 energy-efficiency escalators will be installed at the 12 stations along India’s Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train corridor, The Times of India is among outlets to report. The Anand Station is the first to get escalators, which will carry passengers between the ground and concourse levels. There will be 48 escalators at eight stations in Gujarat and 42 at four stations in Maharashtra. Safety features include emergency-stop buttons, handrail finger guard devices and dress guards. The conveyances join other modern and advanced amenities at the stations, which boast information systems, ticketing and waiting areas, business-class lounges, nurseries, restrooms, information booths and retail.
