The agenda for the annual Elevator U Conference, hosted by the University of North Carolina (UNC) Charlotte on June 26-29, has been set. A golf outing and the Elevator U Board of Directors (BoD) meeting are planned on the first day, followed by a wealth of presentations by vertical-transportation (VT) industry professionals on the following days. Presentation topics include VT code, history and project management; and pit, door, freight elevator and access safety. Some of the programs have been submitted for continuing-education credits, and this information will be shared once confirmed. Also on the agenda are the vendor expo, a dinner/social event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, the always-popular Vendor-Mercials, voting to confirm the new BoD and a silent auction with dinner and drinks to benefit the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation. The host hotel is Hilton Charlotte University Place, for which rooms are available at a discounted rate.
