Developer Stoford delivered Stannah’s new, 90,000-ft2 factory in Andover, Hampshire, U.K., the companies announced on September 21, “facilitating the expansion of Stannah’s production capacity, reducing lead times for customers globally and providing a purpose-built facility for its manufacturing teams.” The new facility more than doubles Stannah’s manufacturing footprint in Andover, where the lift company — now in its fifth generation of family ownership — has been based since moving from London in 1974. The building’s sustainability features include 24,300 ft2 of photovoltaic panels that will save approximately 206 t of CO2 emissions annually compared to electricity from the grid and a system capable of harvesting 10,000 l of rainwater. The factory has achieved the BREEAM Very Good and APC A+ ratings. Stoford Director Edward Peel observed the new facility will support Stannah’s continued growth as it streamlines the manufacturing process, and promises to bring more jobs to the region
