European Federation for Elevator Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EFESME) President Massimo Bezzi recently strengthened ties in India by meeting with an Indian association and attending a major event. On December 1, Bezzi met with Suraj Thodmimarath, president of Elevator & Escalator Component Manufacturers Association of India (EECMAI). At this first meeting between the two associations, possibilities for further collaboration and strengthening the exchange of information within the lift sector and its small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were discussed. The meeting was also attended by Parag Mehta, international director of EECMAI, who organized the event. From December 1-3, Bezzi attended the inaugural International Sourcing Expo for Elevators & Escalators (ISEE) in Mumbai. At ISEE, he had the opportunity to speak not only about the Federation and its activities, but also the importance of providing good support to SMEs to help them realize their potential as the “main actors in the installation and maintenance market.”
