Frightening Hospital Elevator Mishap Captured on Video

A video posted on December 26 that has gone viral shows a hospital elevator descending with its doors open just as a man on a stretcher was wheeled inside, various Indian news outlets, including Times Now, report. Security camera footage shows a woman in a saree rushing to help an attendant outside the elevator but failing to get there in time, with the unit starting to descend with the upper half of the stretcher inside. The footage then shows the patient slipping out of the stretcher “after it took a vertical position due to the pressure from the elevator’s ceiling.” He did not get crushed, and “one can only assume he escaped with minimal injuries,” the source observed.
