Austin, Texas-based Pearlstone Partners and NYC-based ATCO Properties and Management broke ground on Vesper, a 41-story, 284-unit condominium tower in the Rainey Street district of downtown Austin, Austin American-Statesman reported on August 12. Slated for completion in 2024, the project is part of a flurry of new development on the southeastern edge of downtown. Rezoning the area for high-density development in the mid-2000s led to the rise of multiple residential towers, hotels, bars and restaurants. Vesper is close to big employers such as Google, Facebook, Indeed and Oracle, and will have amenities that include a rooftop clubhouse, a skydeck pool, a dog park and an outdoor kitchen. In line with Austin’s Great Streets program, the building’s rear lobby will have a public art gallery and a mural by local artists.
