New York YIMBY reported on a hive of activity in Midtown East, NYC, on August 8 as JPMorgan Chase’s 60-story, 1,388-ft-tall supertall headquarters continues to ascend. The source shared a wealth of photographs from the jobsite at 270 Park Avenue, bound by East 48th Street to the north, East 47th Street to the south, Park Avenue to the east and Madison Avenue to the west. NYC Constructors is the general contractor, Banker Steel is handling steel fabrication and the elevator system will be by Otis. Since the source’s last update in June, the superstructure had surpassed the roof level of a prewar building to the south, with a “constant parade of trucks delivering steel and rebar to the site.” Fireproofing of steel beams on the lower levels has begun, with installation of the glass-and-steel façade expected to follow. Designed by Norman Foster of Foster + Partners and developed by Tishman Speyer, the 2.5 million-ft2 structure is slated for completion by 2025.
