KONE Showcases Robot-Elevator Integration at Copenhagen Hotel

On LinkedIn, Finland-headquartered KONE recently showcased its digital solutions that enable a service robot at a Copenhagen, Denmark, hotel to autonomously call an elevator and move from one floor to another. KONE observes these “clever helpers” interact with the four elevators serving the 484-room Comwell Copenhagen Portside Dolce by Wyndham, which features architecture inspired by the harbor’s historic warehouses. LinkedIn members debated the practicality of needing a robot as a guide, but KONE says using a service robot to help navigate the property and deliver items to guests’ rooms “frees up staff to focus on” other, more pressing matters that might call for human interaction.
