(l-r) Bernd Kagerer, Andreas Schiemann, Felix Niekamp and CEDES CEO Patrick Bass

The Marantec Group and CEDES have entered into an Internet of Things (IoT) partnership. CEDES, the Swiss specialist in safety systems technology for entrance automation and the elevator industry, and Marantec, a group of companies with eight production plants and eight sales companies worldwide, are presenting the initiative to the public at the R&T trade show in Stuttgart, Germany, on February 19-23. The partnership brings together “three pioneers in their respective disciplines: the Marantec Group as a specialist for drive and control technology, maveo as an IoT specialist in the field of drives for garage and industrial door systems within Marantec Group and CEDES, with its IoT sensor domain expertise from the elevator industry,” the partners stated. Traditionally specializing in light barriers and optical sensors in the elevator and industrial-door sectors, CEDES is developing an IoT prototype that combines its sensor technology and data analysis expertise with Marantec’s knowhow in drive and control technology, as well as IoT.
