Manchester, New Hampshire, firefighters rescued four teenagers from London, U.K., who were trapped in a hotel elevator between the first and second floors on April 6, the New Hampshire Union Leader is among outlets to report. After firefighters attempted to recall the elevator to the first floor without success, they disconnected the power source before manually opening the outer doors of the elevator shaft and removing the top hatch of the stalled elevator. They then lowered a ladder and rope into the elevator car, helped the occupants don a harness and extracted them through the top hatch. No injuries were reported.
