Firefighters were called out on April 5 to rescue seven people trapped inside an elevator at a cement plant near Lancaster, California, KGET reports. The Kern County Fire Department Emergency Communications Center received reports of multiple people trapped inside the elevator at the National Cement Co. around 4 p.m. The elevator was stuck between the third and fourth floors, according to the department. A rescuer lowered by rope worked with other team members to place ladders down the side of the stuck elevator. All seven were able to escape safely without any injuries.
