Mehdipatnam, a popular residential area in the southwestern suburbs of Hyderabad, India, is set to get a 390-m-long skywalk to facilitate pedestrians, and it will be equipped with 11 elevators, The Siasat Daily reports. The skywalk will help pedestrians move from one part of the busy junction to another and will have five hop-on stations. The skywalk will help pedestrians cross roads and ensure a hassle-free ride for commuters. Elevator chairs are also likely to be arranged for physically challenged persons. The skywalk is expected to open in May 2023. Meanwhile, the most awaited skywalk at Uppal Junction is likely to be inaugurated soon. The skywalk that is being developed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority at Uppal junction will have six hop-on stations. The 640-m skyway supports the multi-direction movement of pedestrians. Its stations will be equipped with staircases, lifts and escalators.
