Snapped Elevator Cable Leads to Death for Worker in India

The cable of an elevator meant to carry only clothes snapped on July 27, resulting in the death of a 29-year-old factory supervisor who had boarded it in Noida, India, The Tribune is among outlets to report. The incident, involving the elevator falling two floors with the man inside, occurred in Noida’s Sector 63. The man’s co-workers took him to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. Police said the elevator had a capacity of only 15 kg, and the victim broke the rules by riding it.
