Technical Safety BC To Hold Codes and Standards Advisory Panels in June

Upon conducting technical reviews of several codes and standards, Technical Safety BC is inviting contractors to join advisory panels. Participants will be asked to provide recommendations on the adoption of the codes and standards being reviewed and advice on their impact on the industry. The panel reviewing CSA B44-2019, Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators is for Class A and Class RA contractors and IUEC Local 82 members and will meet online on June 20 and June 27. The panel reviewing CSA B355-2019, Platform Lifts and Stair Lifts for Barrier-Free Access is for Class H contractors and will meet online on June 29. The panel reviewing CSA B354.12-2017, Design, Calculations, Safety Requirements, and Test Methods for Mast Climbing Transport Platforms (MCTPs); CSA B354.13-2017, Safe Use and Best Practices for Mast Climbing Transport Platforms (MCTPs); CSA B354.14-2017, Training for Mast Climbing Transport Platforms (MCTPs); and CSA Z185, Safety Code for Personnel Hoists is for Class C contractors and will meet online on June 21 and June 28. All panel sessions will be held via Zoom from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Vancouver time). Those interested in participating should email Charles Lee.
