Three adult passengers were rescued by District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (DC Fire and EMS) personnel from an elevator that had stalled in a blind shaft in northeast Washington, D.C., on November 11, ABC 7 reports. Two of the passengers were extracted using a ladder, and one with a “sophisticated rope-hauling system.” In a Tweet with the hashtag #DCsBravest, DC Fire and EMS said that one of the individuals was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation and the other two declined further medical treatment.
