TK Elevator (TKE) received India’s Golden Peacock Award for Energy Efficiency 2023 from the Institute of Directors (IOD), Manufacturing Today is among outlets to report. IOD established the award in 1991 to recognize commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices. Among TKE’s energy-saving initiatives are installing an 821 kW rooftop solar panel system to generate power at its Multi-Purpose Facility (MPF) in Chakan, Pune, and publishing its second sustainability report. At the Pune MPF, TKE has optimized powder-coating units, air-conditioning systems and electrical transformers. It also introduced electrically operated forklifts and scissor lifts, implemented motion sensors and LED lighting and incorporated energy-efficient, variable frequency drive machinery for punching, bending and compressing. The MPF obtained the ISO 50001 energy-management certification from TUV SUD in 2022, “further underscoring the company’s focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.”
