TKE Set For Texas High School Elevator Renovation

The McKinney Boyd High School District’s Board of Trustees approved US$194,287 in September for the renovation of two elevators at the high school in McKinney, Texas, Community Impact reports. This cost includes replacing and refurbishing the elevator’s mechanical and electrical components, according to the proposal. McKinney Boyd opened in 2006, and the age of the elevators makes it harder to repair them due to the difficulty in finding parts. The elevators have been out of service for multiple days during the school year, according to the source. Across the district, elevators have been standardized to TK Elevator (TKE) to simplify inspections, repairs and maintenance. After the purchase order is complete, TKE expects it to take roughly seven months to receive the materials needed for the renovation, the agenda states. The elevator renovations will begin on the last day of school, May 29, and will be completed no later than August 1.
