TÜV Rheinland, which offers test technical systems and products around the world, recently announced an agreement to acquire ABB U.K.’s technical engineering consultancy, part of ABB’s Energy Industries division. Expected to close in the second quarter of 2023, the transaction will see the engineering consultancy integrated into TÜV Rheinland’s U.K. Industrial Services & Cybersecurity business. ABB’s technical engineering consultancy includes a network of approximately 160 subcontractors and associates operating from two main sites in northeast and northwest England. This team helps global energy customers improve process safety, equipment and asset integrity, as well as provides technical design for new and existing industrial plants. “We look forward to creating growth, stability and opportunity at a time where we are seeing increased demand for sustainability, decarbonization and business continuity,” TÜV Rheinland U.K. Managing Director Gareth Brook said.
