Fujitec tells ELEVATOR WORLD the nearly-complete, 35-story residential tower at 200 East 83rd Street in the Yorkville area of the Upper East Side in Manhattan, NYC, will be served by three traction elevators with Fujitec Viridian controllers and one hydraulic unit with a Smartrise controller. Machines are Fujitec FM048 and FM023 models. The vertical-transportation (VT) system will also be outfitted with the Fujitec EZSHUTTLE destination-dispatch system. In July, New York YIMBY reported that exterior work was wrapping up on the tower, designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and developed by Naftali Group and Rockefeller Group. Slated for completion in winter 2023, 200 East 83rd Street will offer 86 residences, ground-level retail and a wealth of amenities, including an entire floor dedicated to wellness. In July, the construction elevator remained attached to the structure, but is expected to be dismantled soon.
