Al Griffin

Al Griffin has 58 years’ experience in the elevator industry, starting his career in 1966 in positions that included mechanic, adjuster, owner of an elevator company and inspector. He is a member of NAESA International and a past member of the ASME A17.1 Regulatory Advisory Council, the ASME A17.7 New Technology Committee, and CSA B44, B355, B311, Z185 and Z98. Griffin worked for the Alberta, Canada, government for the past 34 years as chief elevator inspector and technical administrator — a position he held for 17 years before retiring in May 2013. Griffin remains involved with elevating devices and safety as a consultant and advisor. He can be reached at ansgr2024@gmail.com.
