Manufactured and installed by Ascensores Embarba S.A., based in Malaga, Spain, the new facility represents an investment of nearly EUR900,000 (US$935,857) for Torremolinos. "Thanks to this panoramic elevator, we have managed to connect and make foot traffic between this part of town and the coast much more viable," Torremolinos Mayor Margarita del Cid said. Boasting a 60-m walkway and overcoming a difference in height of more than 28 m, the system consists of an outdoor elevator with a panoramic cabin and capacity for up to eight people. It is equipped with an automatic electric system and a rooftop evacuation hatch.
