KONE Senior Vice President of Sustainability and Environment Kirsi Simola-Laaksonen observed that, with cities expanding and climate targets becoming more urgent, the demand for sustainable vertical-transportation solutions is greater than ever. "Our industry-leading solutions drive energy efficiency in elevators and escalators," she said. "For instance, our regenerative drive can recover up to 40% of an elevator's energy consumption." The company also engages with suppliers to reduce material emissions over the supply chain.
