Title: Elevator Motor Saving Lives
Votes: ?
Category: Machines & Components
Views: ?
Description: A 10,000 pound elevator motor recovered from the wreckage at the World Trade Center site after 9/11. Each tower had 20 of them. The plane that hit the South tower lodged in the motor room, unable to penetrate the steel and machinery. This left the stairway intact, allowing many people to evacuate.
