Edificio emblemático de Houston será convertido en hotel Hilton

El edificio Scanlan, una estructura de 11 pisos ubicada en 405 Main Street en Houston, Texas, construida en 1909, se convertirá en el primer hotel Canopy by Hilton de Hilton luego de su compra a fines del año pasado por SLTX Capital, entre cuyos establecimientos se encuentran Cron report. Built by the family of two-time Houston Mayor Thomas Scanlan, the building was once home to the Republic of Texas’ presidential palace. It was designated a landmark by the City of Houston in 2000. The 96,699-ft2 property is distinguished by crown molding, marble interiors and a famous mural of a boy on a bicycle painted on one side. While historical elements will be preserved, the developer will modernize the building's plumbing and electrical and mechanical systems, including elevators. Work is set to start in early 2026, with the opening of the 140-room hotel anticipated in summer 2027.
