Mónaco modernizará 65 unidades VT

Nearly half of Monaco's public vertical transportation (VT) is set to be "modernized and improved" by 2025, the Tribuna de Mónaco reports. Sixty-five of the 80 lifts (typically available 24/7), 37 escalators, eight moving walks and eight wheelchair platform lifts in the microstate's Department of Urban Amenities need attention. The department is not only looking at the age of the units, but also how requiring less energy to power them will help Monaco's goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. In 2020, nine public lifts were replaced. This year should see 17 modernizations.
