Bakhtiyor Khaidarov, director de la Agencia para el Desarrollo de la Cooperación Industrial y la Contratación Pública de Uzbekistán, sostuvo una reunión el 18 de junio con representantes de las principales organizaciones de la República de Corea que trabajan en el sector de la fabricación de ascensores. UZ diario reports. The parties discussed the development of the elevator industry, technology transfer and the training of qualified specialists. Special attention was paid to initiatives involving creating a specialized training center, organizing a local assembly for elevator control panels, implementing a "Train the Trainer" program and launching internship and specialist certification programs between the two countries. Uzbekistan is facing a growing demand for elevator equipment: In 2025, 3,009 elevators were supplied to the market while the requirement for new high-rise residential construction exceeds 5,000 units per year, and the gap could potentially widen in future years. Following the meeting, two memoranda were signed: one between the Agency and Korea Elevator University and another between the Agency and the Korea Elevator Safety Foundation. The agreements are set for a term of three years and are aimed at establishing an institutional foundation for expanding local production, training personnel and accelerating the technological development of the industry in Uzbekistan.
