The Korea Elevator Safety Authority is spreading elevator safety culture by holding "2025 Elevator Safety Week" and awarding commendations to 32 individuals who have contributed to the development of elevator safety, Journal d'affaires Maeil reports. In November, the Elevator Safety Corp. held a ceremony and elevator safety week under the theme of "Elevator Safety to Protect Together, People's Happiness to Realize Together." More than 200 officials from academia, industry and local governments attended the ceremony. As the winners of the elevator safety contest, the short-form "Eum Film" and the poster "Park Hye-jun" received ministerial marks, respectively. Among the winners of the contest's Best, Outstanding and Encouragement Awards, institutions Ajo ENG, LH Corp. and Hana Elevator, which contributed to the spread of elevator safety culture in the short form and poster categories, received the chairman's commendation. A chairman's commendation was also given to those who contributed to safety cooperation at industrial sites. After the ceremony, an elevator safety conference followed. Elevator experts from the industrial complex and academia held 16 sessions on AI-based preservation technology, basic plans for elevator safety management, global standard trends and ways to use public data. Along with the ceremony, a public participatory safety campaign was held at Suseo Station in Seoul. In the campaign, there were safety practice pledge zones, elevator safety roulette events and elevator safety movement exhibitions. Elevator safety Pepero (a Korean chocolate-covered pretzel snack), which was produced through collaboration between the Elevator Safety Authority and Lotte Well Food, was also distributed to citizens.
