Here at ELEVATOR WORLD, our Photo Contest never fails to thrill us and remind us of the beauty of the vertical-transportation (VT) industry and the world around us. In EW Fotoğraf Yarışması 2026 by Kaija Wilkinson, EW's 14th annual competition captures the life and color of this industry through the lenses of photographers, videographers and artists who pulled out all the stops and captured memorable images, including our cover shot, which looks through the glass of a panoramic elevator in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, to the breathtaking surroundings beyond. The first, second and third place winners in this year's 11 featured categories span the globe, showcasing unique perspectives from Europe, Australia, the Middle East, North America and more. We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we do.

Fotoğraflarımız Special Regional Section: Switzerland could be part of the Photo Contest they are so stunning, thanks to the picturesque country. Once a year, we choose a region to focus on, and for the first time, we explore the rich projects and products of Switzerland. The three articles in this section provide a snapshot of this country's VT vibrancy. They are:

• EGL Elevator SAGL by Paolo Restaino. The new Novazzano, Switzerland, arm of the Italian company specializes in complex, bespoke VT solutions.
• Schindler X8 Tanıtım Turu Zirve Noktasına Ulaştı Sascha Göbel tarafından, EW Europe Correspondent. On the Männlichen above Grindelwald, Switzerland, Schindler demonstrated the X8: a passenger elevator rethinking elevator installation in existing buildings. Your author captured the spirit of the product and the beauty of the surroundings.
• Aşırı Yükseklik: Sfenks Gözlemevi by Kathleen Farrell. Two Schindler elevators sit above the Jungfraujoch mountain pass in the Swiss Alps at Europe's highest research facility.

Beyond the stunning photographs and Swiss stories, this issue features events and more events. • WEE Expo 2026, Guangzhou by Peng Jie, EW Correspondent. Thirty years in, the World Elevator & Escalator Expo still packs a punch, with this iteration seeing large crowds and outstanding innovations.
• ANACAM'ın 55. Ulusal Meclisi by Elettra Bilibio. Italian SMEs, European representatives and technical expertise came together in Sardinia, Italy, for what was a robust program of speakers and exhibitors.
• ELA Genel Kurulu ve Konferansı 2026 by Göbel. The annual event took place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, this year and focused heavily on AI and the future.
• 25 Years of the NEW-Lift Service Center by Göbel. Your author attended this rousing anniversary celebration in Kell am See, Germany.
• Yapay Zeka İletişim Ödülü 2026 submitted by Ziehl-Abegg. The company honored pioneering projects at Germany's Social Media Days.
• BIKE-France 2026 by Göbel. An adventure full of hairpin turns, hot weather and high living (with VT conversations aplenty) was had in the Champagne region.
• Henning, Schwelm'e Sadık Kalıyor by Göbel. The two-day Schwelm Symposium, previously held in Schwelm, Germany, has moved to Hagen, but the event's relevance and depth remain unchanged.
• LiftExpo Polonya Önizlemesi submitted by LiftExpo Poland. The second iteration of this VT event returns to Warsaw in October to continue the conversation it started two years ago.
• The New Risk Map of Spain's Elevator Sector Olga Quintanilla tarafından, EW Europe Correspondent. This online event looked at the country's industry challenges and worked on some answers.
