MP Lifts, a Seville, Spain-headquartered enterprise with more than 165,000 lifts installed globally, announced on May 21 it has been awarded a contract to maintain Seville Metro's vertical-transportation (VT) equipment. The long-term contract strengthens a relationship that dates to 2007, when MP Lifts designed and installed 42 elevators and 53 escalators across the metro network. "It was a landmark project for MP, as well as a very technically demanding challenge befitting an infrastructure crucial to the mobility of an entire city," the company observed. MP Lifts then maintained these VT units for 16 years, "following the highest quality, safety and service standards." The latest contract, MP Lifts said, "entails a recognition for the work, professionalism and commitment the team has proved over so many years."
