La plupart des 9 millions d'ascenseurs en service en Chine — le plus grand parc installé dans un seul pays — ont été installés au début des années 2000 et devront bientôt être remplacés. Réseau mondial de télévision chinois (CGTN) a fait état de ce phénomène en novembre. Marks pointed out how an AI system that allows people to interact directly at elevators holds promise in China, as does the nation's elevator renewal efforts.
