The commerce ministry's investigative arm found the parts have been exported to India "at a price below the normal value, resulting in dumping." DGTR recommended a duty of between 24.11% and 51.87%, but the finance industry will have the final say. The duty is aimed at creating a level playing field for domestic manufacturers under the regime of the World Trade Organization. India has already imposed duties on several products to counter cheap imports from countries including China.
