Le 78 Hudson Yards de 1,011 étages et 50 XNUMX pieds de haut, conçu par la société britannique Foster + Partners, est maintenant terminé à Midtown Manhattan, NYC, Dezeen is among outlets to report. The official vertical-transportation provider for the Hudson Yards megadevelopment, TK Elevator (TKE) announced several years ago it would design and install up to 40 TWIN double-deck elevator systems for 50 Hudson Yards. With a stepped envelope and symmetrical façade of floor-to-ceiling windows, the design of the supertall uses an elevator strategy described by Foster + Partners as "innovative," using the building's core to open up floorplates on the perimeter. TKE observes that TWIN, featuring two cabs operating independently in one shaft, reduces space, passenger travel time and energy consumption. The TWIN installation at 50 Hudson Yards is the first in NYC and the second in the U.S., following the Coda Building at Georgia Tech University's Tech Square in Midtown Atlanta.
