Three new pieces of vertical-transportation (VT) equipment — a new elevator and two replacement escalators — for the Long Island Rail Road's (LIRR) Floral Park and Bellerose stations mark the first accessibility award of the NYC Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (MTA) 2025-2029 Capital Plan, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul ha annunciato on July 29. MTA award a contract for the work at both Floral Park and Bellerose to the Scalamandre-Gramercy joint venture that consists of Peter Scalamandre and Sons Inc. of Freeport and Gramercy Group of Wantagh. Currently accessible via three elevators, Floral Park  is getting a new, wider escalator, and Bellerose is getting a new elevator. "The 2025-29 Capital Plan represents one of the most ambitious commitments to accessibility and state-of-good-repair work in MTA history,” MTA Construction and Development President Jamie Torres-Springer said. “Floral Park and Bellerose are a huge part of our push to modernize and improve accessibility better, faster and cheaper than ever."
