The Civic Center in Great Falls, Montana, will be closed from March 10-April 21 for elevator repairs, The Electric reports. The elevator, installed in 1983, has been prone to frequent breakdowns and service calls. The renovation will cost approximately US$120,000 and will include replacements for the hoist, motor and electrical system while also addressing code compliance. The replacements are part of a larger renovation project for the Civic Center approved by city commissioners in March. The Municipal Court is transitioning from the basement to the third floor, which city staff says significantly increases the need for the renovations.
