From 1973 to 2004, Bharat Bijlee manufactured elevators under the brand name Olympus, which had over 15,000 installations across the country. In 2004, the company divested the Elevator division. By leveraging its deep understanding of elevator applications, in 2007, Bharat Bijlee became the first manufacturer of Permanent Magnet Gearless Machines for elevators in India.
