TK Elevator (TKE) announced on May 26 it will provide, install and maintain 55 Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs) at Kuwait International Airport (KWI) just south of the Kuwait City center. The contract builds on TKE’s long-standing relationship with KWI and further strengthens the OEM’s position as a leading airport and infrastructure solutions provider in the Middle East. The customized PBBs feature a unique steel and glass design, ensuring compatibility with all aircraft types. TKE previously installed PBBs at the Amiri Terminal of Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. The latest order is for KWI’s new Terminal 2, being built by Limak Insaat under the supervision of the Kuwait Ministry of Public Works. The 750,000-m2 terminal features an iconic design by Foster + Partners and will significantly enhance KWI’s capacity to handle 25 million passengers annually.
