Apartment Tower for Chicago’s Fulton Market District

A team led by Chicago’s Fulton Street Cos. wasted no time filing plans for a 32-story, 433-unit apartment tower on West Fulton Street north of Lake Avenue after the city opened the area for new housing in February, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat reported in March, citing Crain’s. Among the tallest buildings in what Fulton Street Cos. cofounder Alex Najem described as “the only true live-work-play neighborhood” in Chicago, the development would join other new apartment towers and a strong office market that includes Google and McDonald’s. At least one lawmaker representing the West Loop neighborhood said residential development promises to help it “bounce back from the coronavirus pandemic.” NYC-based Morris Adjmi Architects designed the tower, which still has some hoops to jump through before it’s realized.
