Firefighters were called out on April 5 to rescue seven people trapped inside an elevator at a cement plant near Lancaster, California, KGET reports. The Kern County Fire Department Emergency Communications Center received reports of multiple people trapped inside the elevator at the National Cement Co. around 4 p.m. The elevator was stuck between the third and fourth floors, according to the department. A rescuer lowered by rope worked with other team members to place ladders down the side of the stuck elevator. All seven were able to escape safely without any injuries. Assisting with the rescue were the Los Angeles County Fire Department and Hall Ambulance.
